It’s a Front Stoop Mini Makeover for Spring, Honey!

Hi, my honeys! It is that time of year when I actually start to clean up the outside of my house! The Cleveland winters are kinda harsh on our landscaping, so when Carpet One reached out to me to help them promote their Welcome a Cure line of doormats I knew it was the perfect time to get things cleaned up on our front stoop! This line of doormats is special because they feature the breast cancer ribbon and 25% of all sales from this line benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation whose mission is to prevent and find a cure for breast cancer. There are three different collections of gorgeous doormats within this line: Research, Support, and Thrive!

I find it difficult to talk about, but I have been affected greatly over the last couple of years by breast cancer with my mom being diagnosed in 2019 with stage 1 triple negative breast cancer and one of my close friends Erin sadly losing her battle with breast cancer in the Fall of last year. My mom thankfully is in remission right now, and she just had an all-clear checkup, but nothing prepares you to see your loved ones fight this awful disease or to lose someone you love to it.

I wanted to dedicate this little mini stoop makeover to the cause, so incorporating pink was a must! I grabbed the most gorgeous azaleas from my local nursery and some complimentary flowers as well. I also picked up a new stool and some new planters for my porch and painted them stark white to brighten things up and add some cheer!

Keeping things simple outside are front door is the best policy for us because it's such a small little entryway! I just made sure to clean up the leaves and dirt that the winter left behind with my power sprayer and leaf blower, and I pitched my old doormat. For the makeover, I decided to go with the Blooming Tulips design from their Research collection! I thought it would be the perfect addition to my front stoop for Spring!

Here is how the mini makeover turned out! I just love the bright cheerful colors, and I am so proud to share my support for breast cancer research.
