It's the Most Adult Thing I've Ever Been Excited for, Honey!

Updated: Oct 21, 2019

Hi, my honeys! You know you're officially an adult when you get excited about a new appliance. But this ain't any ole' new appliance, this is the mother of all appliances: the Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator! If you've been following me for awhile, you know that my love for gadgets and technology in the home knows no bounds--ie: automatic roller shades, a TV that looks like art, etc. When Samsung came to me and said, "Hey girl, would you totally love a new Samsung Family Hub fridge to try out and tell your Honeys about?!", you know homegirl was screaming! Thank you to Samsung for sponsoring this post!

Y'all already know my extra self filled the fridge with pumpkins for this pic! HAHA!

My husband and I have never once owned a refrigerator with a water and ice dispenser, not even in any of the homes we rented before buying our house. When we moved in back in 2015, my husband lamented that the one thing he wanted in the kitchen wasn't there--a dang water and ice dispenser on the fridge! I don't know who was more excited about the new fridge, me or him! LOL! Anyway, I'd like to thank Samsung for sponsoring this blog post and making our lives significantly better with the Samsung Family Hub refrigerator! If you've been stalking this fridge like we have for awhile or you're new to the smart fridge game, check out the rest of this blog for all the deets and my initial review!

I love how it gives off a rose gold shine in certain lighting!

First of all, the refrigerator we selected is the Samsung 22 cu. ft. 4-Door French Door, Counter Depth Refrigerator with 21.5” Touch Screen Family Hub™ in Tuscan Stainless Steel! We needed the lesser depth refrigerator to fit in our space, and I love that they have this fridge in counter depth size as well as a deeper size. We also chose the 4-door French door option because we like having all the different drawers to compartmentalize our food and keep things nice and organized. It's worth noting that you can get the touch screen Family Hub style refrigerator in multiple styles including the 4-door Flex, 4-door French Door Recessed Handles, and a 3-door French door! It's all up to your taste and what style fridge works for you and your family!

The color options are stainless steel, black stainless steel, and our chosen color Tuscan stainless steel! We picked it not only because it was different than anything we'd seen before when it comes to appliances, but we also liked the rosy, bronzy, tone to it and thought it would pair nicely with our warm countertops and blush counter stools! We have plans to eventually replace our other kitchen appliances to match, but since the fridge is the only appliance on that wall, we figured we could get away with having a different color fridge than our other appliances for the time being. It's also worth pointing out that all of the finishes are finger print resistant--amen!

Here are some noteworthy features about our new Samsung Family Hub fridge that we love:

  • FlexZone drawer: a flexible storage drawer with four different temperature settings and an adjustable Smart Divider to stay organized.

  • 3 built-in cameras to see inside your fridge without opening the door and from wherever you are by using an app on your phone

  • WiFi and Bixby enabled and lots of apps to stay organized, cook recipes, and even order food with

  • You can upload photos to display on your fridge and even write grocery lists and reminder notes

  • You can enter in what you're putting in the fridge and the expiration date, so it will warn you when food is about to expire

  • You can stream music from apps like iHeartRadio and Spotify

  • AutoFill pitcher with infuser automatically refills itself when you put it back in the fridge

The counter depth size fits right in snugly with my cabinets!

After using our Samsung Family Hub fridge for about two weeks now, I can tell you we are more than obsessed! The things we are enjoying most about it is the amount of storage it has, and we love the middle drawer to store cold snacks that we can quickly grab when we're hungry! We also love the crushed ice option on the fridge; who knew crushed ice was far superior than cubed!? LOL! I have also been using the apps through the touch screen to play music, write my husband memos, and look for good recipes! I've also been loving that you have the ability to upload your own photos, so you can display cute photos as your screen saver! I am such a Halloween junkie because my birthday is in October, so I have always celebrated it with various Halloween themed parties! I love that this fridge gives me the option to swap out the screensaver with my own images for the various holidays and seasons!

Had to put my favorite witches up on the touch screen! It is Hocus Pocus season afterall!

Now, here's the million dollar question: is it worth the splurge? I say yes, and here's why: I am personally obsessed with smart devices and appliances because I'm so used to having those features on my phone, and I like them to be in other areas of my life! Not only does the Samsung Family Hub refrigerator do its job of keeping things cold, it serves a multitude of purposes in the home. It's the appliance that does it all, and therefore, eliminates the need for other devices! Whether you're the person upgrading your phone every time a new one comes out, or you have a busy family who could use some extra conveniences, this fridge is for you! As we approach the holiday season, I know we are going to get a ton of use out of all of these features, and I am so excited to have the fridge for that reason!

I'd like to thank YOU for reading this review, and I'd also like to thank Samsung for gifting us this refrigerator to tell y'all all about it! What other appliances or home devices would you like me to review? We have a goal of adding the entire Samsung Tuscan Stainless Steel line to our kitchen, so I can report back when we get more of the appliances! Hugs to you all! -e
